Tiny Version of Me is a song is about not letting grief stand in the way of experiencing joy. In 2020, my wife and I lost a son due to complications during pregnancy. In 2021, we welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby boy into our world. This song is about doing my best to be a great father, about the simple joys of getting to know my son, while still trying to grieve our loss in a way that is healthy.

Despite the heavy subject matter, “Tiny Version of Me'' features pop-oriented arrangement and production, with chiming clean electric guitars, bouncy drums by John O'Reilly, and sincere harmonies sung by artist Haley Marie. It will be available on all major streaming services, as well as Bandcamp.

The song was therapy to me and has served its purpose. What I hope now is to spread awareness about the painful reality that inspired it. The United States has the highest infant and maternal mortality rates out of any other high-income country and simultaneously spends the most on health care.
